Upper Gobos Walk
Starting and end point is the entrance to the Greyton Nature Reserve in upper Park Road.
After passing through the gate, follow the Boesmanskloof Trail. Turn right, cross the Noupoort stream and climb up the winding path. It levels out and now you have a wonderful view of the village and the Riviersonderend mountains, with Abdolskop ahead of you and Perdekop left of it. The surrounding fynbos contains Protea repens (suikerbos) and Protea nerifolia, with beards on the outer flower bracts. Follow the trail marked 'Galg'.
The path goes gently down to the Gobos River, which you have to cross by rockhopping. Carry on to the jeep track, crossing the little stream.
If you cross the river you are also following the Leiwater walk. only in the other direction. At the little stream originating in the Wolfskloof you will see a tall member of the Protea family, Leucadendron salicifolium, with nice cones on the female plant. At the intersection with the Boesmanskloof trail, turn right.
Having reached the Cape Nature Conservation station, turn right into lower Nerina Street, which you follow up to Park Road. There, turning right, you reach after a few minutes the entrance to the Greyton Nature Reserve, the end of this short walk.
