Francoise Viglietti paints both classical and modern oil on canvas.  She has had many solo and joint exhibitions during her career and her paintings have been sold to collectors all over the world.  Francoise refers to the paintings exhibited here as her wild modern paintings mixed with few classic paintings.

Francoise Viglietti

Francoise Viglietti was born on the 2nd May 1967. The second of four children and the firstborn daughter. She was born as her mother aptly puts it, wild and wildly frustrating. Painting at three and going down slides at the age of one, she was a real hell raiser.
A soul that pushed boundaries and a spirit that needed an outlet, that outlet happened in paint and colour. She needed to experience the textures and colour of her world, the beauty and softness.. hatred and love, all of it. It was her chosen medium to paint on canvas.
At the age of five she was sent to the Frank Joubert Art School, where she enjoyed years of artistic input, which laid the foundation to a lifetime of artistic discoveries. Later she went to the Paarl Art Academy where she matriculated.
After school Francoise continued her studies in art at the Ruth Prouse School of Art in Woodstock, Cape Town, then she went to the Artist Co-op in Observatory after which she went to the School of Impressionism in Stellenbosch. She then went searching for mentors similar to the old masters, which took on apprentices. She did not want to lose the intimacy and connection by going to formal institutionalized education. She found many hidden treasures, Piet Kannemeyer with whom she shared a deep and lasting relationship. Ryno Swart who is a master in Impressionism. Sheri Hornsi, Eric Eatwell, Lynne-Marie Eatwell and Mags Eatwell, Paul du Toit and many other teachers who have been a great inspiration and better than any Professors of art for they themselves are masters. The greatest teacher has been nature itself.
Francoise traveled throughout Italy and Europe, experiencing the gourmet feast of colour, art and architecture. She came home inspired and started teaching and having many successful exhibitions with lots of Italian food!!!
Francoise says most of all it is to the people who love her work and take the time to appreciate the nuances, the seasons and the impressions for without the beholder, what is the art?
Her paintings have been sold to collectors all over the world. She lives in Noordhoek with her husband and two daughters.
Francoise has had many solo and joint exhibitions during her career.
