About Greyton
The beautiful village of Greyton nestles between the majestic Riviersonderend mountain range and gently curving hills. This tranquil oasis of green lies between two rivers, with lush colourful country gardens that complement the thatched cottages and oak tree lined lanes. The villagers are friendly and the ambiance is uniquely "Greyton".
Restaurants
The latest restaurant to open in Greyton is the Old Mill, which serves deliciousl home baking and oven baked pizzas. Six of Greyton's restaurants are listed in the latest "Eat Out" magazine. You can choose from Continental a la carte, three or four course meals at Abbey Rose, Barnards, Pepper Tree, the 254 Restaurant, or Greyton Lodge. Enjoy deliciously healthy light
meals, coffee and croissants at the famous The Oak & Vigne. The Post House has recently reopened, where you can buy the famous hand-crafted Von Geusau Chocolates made in Greyton, or drink the renowned and wicked chocolate milk shake.

And to top it all, you can go for long walks or cycle rides in our beautiful mountainous countryside, where you can fill your lungs with the freshest air.
Hiking, Horse-riding and Mountain biking
There are beautiful hikes in and around Greyton, or take a mountain bike to meander through the village and onto the mountain paths that lead you into cool mountain crevasses with fern-lush ponds. High Hopes keep a selection of good mountain and general-purpose bicycles for hire, including children’s bikes. Go horse-riding at Diadème or Blue Hippo. Or you can go for a swim in the clear, bergwater river at Greyton's picnic sites.
Shopping in Greyton
The village has wonderful art galleries and quaint shops to browse around in. Visit, Scarlett, Odz, Blossom, Mafala and the Inside Story . Don't miss all the new art galleries that have opened in Greyton. A wonderful addition to Greyton's shopping experience - Naturally Greyton organic shop, opened recently. The regular Saturday morning market should not be missed. Fresh local produce such as organic vegetables, preservative-free cheeses, yoghurt, natural honey, freshly baked breads, cakes and pies, fresh lemon juice and ice-cream (or lemon-curd pancakes in winter!) Delightful village-made crafts are all there, among which beautiful jewellery made with semi-precious stones, silver, pearls and colourful beads.
Greyton Wines
In Europe, wine, historically, was made locally and consumed locally. In Greyton we too can consume “OUR” locally made wines. “Local is lekker”.
